That line from the song of that title by the great Paul Simon reminds me of myself these past few weeks. "I am a Rock" reminds me of my resiliance to things stressful and painful. I've had much of that lately... But then, like the Island in the song, I stand alone but people depend on me and love me in spite of the bad food and rotten hospitality <G>. Two weeks ago, a dear friend hurt me. It was not intentional but it pained me nonetheless. It was something I did and did not do that angered her. "Did and did not do?" you ask. The answer is not one I'll explain. Let's just say that I was "framed" and end it there. If she reads this, I hope she knows that my heart still goes out to her though a friendship has been severely compromised by the actions of another.

In the time that we were close, I knew friendship of the sort I hadn't known for many, many years. I loved her... And still do and always and ever will. I hope we can be friends again but things will never, ever be the same.
